Out and About in Portland, Oregon

November 27, 2008

Willow and I love our Portland like a teenage boy loves his long showers. We love most everything about Portland. We don't turn our noses up (errr.. or down) to 23rd ave. We love the freaks on Alberta. We love Hawthorne. We love Multnomah Village. We are willing to fatten ourselves for the amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurants on 82nd. We love Clinton Street. We love downtown, Forest Park, Laurelhurst Park (and neighborhood), Hollywood, yep and even Greshtuckey. On any given night, you might find us knockin back a few delicious beverages at Binks, maybe catching a show at Wonder Ballroom, or enjoying each others company over dinner at Il Piatto or soberin up with a couple of Chicken Burritos at La Serenita.  We love our Portland and most of the people that call it home.  Check here for reviews of our favorite bars, restaurants, and music venues.  Read on!!

Rob's Photography

November 27, 2008

I love photography.  I take my camera everywhere.  I don't think that I am a good photographer, but I snap so many pictures that some of them are bound to turn out good.  I love pictures of people - especially women (duh)... My favorite thing in the world is when my subjects look at pictures of themselves... and say something like "Oh my god.. I look really amazing".  I also love contrast.  I love snappin pics of beautiful women in rough environments like an abandoned and delapitated house.  I like taking some man-made crap - like power lines against a beautiful backdrop of Hood or The Gorge or something.  Well... anyway - Here you go .

Music - Music - Music

"The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not mov'd with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils."
   - The Merchant of Venice (V, i, 83-85)

We're totally nutty about our music.  Seriously... we have so much music.  We listen to music day and night. I love vinyl the most... I have over 20k of em... I also have tons of CD's, MP3's, cassettes and yep... even about 500 8-tracks. We don't ever listen to the radio - well except NPR.  We despise whiny pop-mall-punk, new country, and most pop music.  We love real punk, jazz, blues, classic rock, gypsy music, marching bands, old-timey, old country, old folk, bluegrass, trip-hop, trance, house, dub, jungle and really anything that doesn't suck.

The Girl

Beautiful Alexis

We are immensly proud of our... well not so little girl.  She works her butt off, she is brilliant, she's funny as hell, and she's even kinda cute - for a girl.  Check back here  to find out what Alie is up to or just check out some of her great photos.  More .....

The Boy

We are equally proud of Robbie. He is back from his first tour of duty in Iraq. We are so grateful that he made it back safe. Although we think Bush's war is fucked up and fueled by greed and a total disregard for life... we are proud that Robbie is doing what he thinks is best for him. He went in for a future... and we hope upon hope that he finds it.More .....
